Artists Statement:
"As a Chicago based photographer, I began working two decades ago as a graphic designer and secondarily as a commercial and fashion photographer. As a fine art photographer, I found a freedom to explore the images that fulfill my own visual obsessions. I’m aesthetically drawn to certain shapes, tones and minimal compositions that go against my formal training, but also drawn to a level of emotional value and implied cinematic narratives that let me explore a sense of wonder in the final work.
Portraits and figures allow an endless opportunity for discovery as each subject reveals a symbiotic energy that feeds the evolution of the shoot, but it’s my direction during the shoot, and own internal passion that drives the eventual outcome."
